Ganked from speccygeekgrrl

Rules: Tell me you want to play and I'll pick up to three of your fandoms. Then update your journal and answer the following questions:

1. What got you into this fandom in the first place?
2. Do you think you'll stay in this fandom or eventually move on?
3. Favorite episodes/books/movies, etc?
4. Do you participate in this fandom (fanfiction, graphics, discussions)?
5. Do you think more people should get into this fandom?

Speccy gave me House, Heroes, and Jeeves and Wooster.

House MD

1. What got you into this fandom in the first place?
I'd vaguely heard/read about this new TV show with Hugh Laurie in it that sounded kind of interesting. Missed the whole first season and didn't get around to putting it on Netflix Queue until the mid-season hiatus of Season 2. Naturally, Netflix (or possibly I) screwed up, so the first episode I saw was Damned If You Do...and I was instantly hooked. Hooked on House, hooked on House/Wilson. Hooked on the snark and the banter. Within a few days, I'd googled House/Wilson slash and the rest is history.

2. Do you think you'll stay in this fandom or eventually move on?
It's a question, isn't it? Obviously I haven't been in love with the actual show as it's played out since the middle of the 3rd Season, BUT I still love the characters and what they once were. I love being in the fandom with my peeps, even if it means we're just there to piss and moan together. I've gone out on the limb several times to say that I will stay to the bitter end, because walking away is a betrayal of the fandom, or it would be if I did it. Obviously, many people have done so for their own sanity, but clearly that's not a priority for me.

3. Favorite episodes/books/movies, etc?
i. All In
ii. Sex Kills
iii. The Stories
iv. Hunting
v. The Mistake
(But really....pretty much the entire first two seasons. )

4. Do you participate in this fandom (fanfiction, graphics, discussions)?
Obsessively and compulsively, except that I have no artistic skills, so graphics are out. I still post a babble about every episode and engage in other metas and I'm still writing fic, so yeah, baby, all in.)

5. Do you think more people should get into this fandom?
I think anyone who hasn't seen the first two seasons should, with the caveat that the third season is a mixed bag and there's really nothing worth watching after that.

Heroes
1. What got you into this fandom in the first place?
I'd seen some fanfic that looked interesting, but again, had only heard about the show via zeitgeist while the first season was running. Thanks to
hllangel for making the first season available to me. Again, I was very much hooked from the first episodes, especially the mysteries surrounding HRG and Nathan Petrelli.

2. Do you think you'll stay in this fandom or eventually move on?
Well the show has run it's course, so the question is really whether the fandom will endure. If there's a market, I can see continuing to write for the fandom, but I'm not sure if it's going to be more like Buffy, where the fandom outlives the canon or Alias, where it seems to be fairly moribund.

3. Favorite episodes/books/movies, etc?
i. Company Man
ii. Five Years Gone
iii. Cold Wars
Those are the one that stand out as episodes that work in full. Otherwise most episodes have one or two great moments and the rest of the time I'm usually yelling at the screen, very often "STFU MOHINDER!"

4. Do you participate in this fandom (fanfiction, graphics, discussions)?
Not much lately, but I still have fanfic on my to read list, and I wouldn't turn down a prompt if it came up in a meme or something.

5. Do you think more people should get into this fandom?
The first season is well worth checking out. After that, you're on your own, especially the horrors of the Maya plot. FEH!

Jeeves & Wooster

1. What got you into this fandom in the first place?
I'm pretty sure I saw the BBC productions when they were first broadcast on PBS because when I saw them again, I was like...deja vu. But I only came back to it as a fandom because getting into House got me into Hugh Laurie, which got me into Fry and Laurie as a RPS pairing, which got me into Jeeves/Wooster as a slash pairing.

2. Do you think you'll stay in this fandom or eventually move on?
I'll read fic if it looks interesting. I literally just finished reading a Jeeves/Dr. Who crossover last night. I'm not sure I have much else to write on the subject having delivered myself of my angsty, non-con, magnum opus.

3. Favorite episodes/books/movies, etc?
I'll be honest and admit I've never read the books. I like all the episodes equally, although the first season was the most well done and the cast changes afterwards always throw me off. Anything with Hugh as Bertie singing and playing piano makes me happy.

4. Do you participate in this fandom (fanfiction, graphics, discussions)?
See answer to #2.

5. Do you think more people should get into this fandom?
I do. I think the source material is delightful and if you're looking for a fluffy fandom, this is the fluffiest. Part of the reason I've moved away somewhat is that since I went into the depths and insisted on seeing the darkness there, it's very hard to go back to the pure fluff and there are few and far between writers in the fandom who enjoy that aspect...and one them proved to be a terrible disappointment.
