[NOTE: I finally got around to posting up videos on YouTube dating back several months, including footage from the
Scream Awards, the
REST comic signing and
PMX. So check them out when you have the chance!]
Considering that the organizers failed to book a single anime or manga guest-of-honor (not even an American dub actor, if you could believe that), it's a wonder why I even bothered showing up for
Pacific Media Expo this year. Still, since I made the mistake of pre-registering for it during my last visit, I faced the choice of either attending or completely wasting my paid admission. So off I went anyway (although I made the wise decision of skipping out on the first day and not dealing with Friday LA traffic).
As I mentioned before, there were no notable guests to speak of (besides perhaps import race queen Kaila Yu performing with her synth pop rock band Nylon Pink and a few unknown visual kei acts like Suicide Ali) and few other events interested me, so there's really not much for me to report. When it's all said and done, I ended up spending most of my time simply catching up with old acquaintances and checking out cosplayers. Well, a glamour model convention taking place on the lower level also provided a momentary distraction, although it was filled with mostly ladies who charged you money to even speak with them and lots of very creepy old men. Needless to say, I still found plenty of time to sleep this past weekend.
Check out the rest of my
photos (especially if you want to see a few of the professional models) and
video clips.
