Wasn't planning on going. Didn't really feel like going. Didn't even bother to purchase early admission like I always used to. Almost made alternative plans for the same holiday weekend. But, alas, the always butt-kicking crew from
Anime Weekend Atlanta and
Kawaii Kon simply wouldn't let me escape Anime Expo (it would have been my first time in over a decade) during the Independence Day weekend.
While it's impossible to not have a great time with my good friends from Georgia and Hawaii (Kobe burgers!), I could safely say that the convention itself wasn't much to be excited about. In fact, I loaned my camera to someone else to take photos on my behalf. And although I easily garnered several autograph opportunities, I opted to give them up or pass them on to other friends. I also think that I might have dozed off during part of the Morning Musume (a famous j-pop group) concert. Yep, that's how excited I am about Anime Expo these days. (Even took my sweet time to post this entry.)
But for those of you who aren't quite as disillusioned or fed up with this show and other anime-related events like it, there are plenty of pictures (and whenever I finally feel up to it, videos) from the four-day extravanganza. Check out a few of the photos here and then the rest on my
Shutterfly account.
