website stuff
unordered list of website related tasks:
- Finish my logo. (old version is below. New version is nearly completed and awaiting resizing and saving-as according to my web graphic needs.)
- Get the content of the older pages to have the updated doctypes and meta. (I can probably do find and replace for large portions of this. If not using a template, see below)
- Get the content of the old pages into updated divs and such. (I can do this by making a temple or templates and cutting and pasting old content into the template and save-as the new version of the page.)
- Reconsider the layout and styling. (I waver in opinion on the layout. Two of the absolutely positioned divs don't display in all browsers. If I can't fix it elegantly, then I need a script or something to make an alternate (or no) stylesheet load so content will still display. OR, I need an entirely new layout again.)
- The colorscheme(s) need serious work. (What I would really like to do is go to a white and gray scheme with accents of black or other hues, but I'm trying to figure out how to make it pretty as well as readable.)
- Generate new content. (I am wanting to put this off until I know the old parts work with the new design.)
- Add features I have long been meaning to but have not, such as an integrated blog and a store for merchandise. I'm still researching options. I know my host would be compatible with something like WordPress or Movable Type. I'm not sure about store options. I have to look into it.
- Oh! And I need to work out how I want image galleries and images to display. (I need the gallery to look good, integrated into the site, and functional and accessible. Galleries are often where I get stuck. It's mostly not knowing which technique will be best.)
