MY UPDATES WILL ALL BE CAPSLOCK

DEATH TO NEW JERSEY; I TAKE BACK EVERYTHING ON NASDACK ABOUT SENDING RUFUS TO CHICAGO. FUCK THAT, NEW JERSEY. LUCIFER WOULD HAVE TROUBLE SEEING GOOD IN NEW JERSEY.

Why no, I did not just finish part of my spring break up with a hateful tryst with Newark. Hatesex with that airport wouldn't even be fulfilling; it'd just be depressing, middle-aged and uninspiring. Newark would be where Balthier and Tseng would meet when 45 and tired.

Alsowik, housecleaning! As I attempt to get back into LJ/ficland:

1. If you've added me in the mysterious 6 months in which I ceased to exist, let me know - hi there!
2. If you've grown to (with legitimate reason) despise my rather boring and non-productive self, feel free to do whatever you wish with me - no drama!
3. Hi, everyone. ♥ I love you guys to bits.

What song are you currently addicted to?

A number of remixes of Harder, Faster, Stronger, some of which are calmer than you'd think.

What books are you currently reading?

Considering my school, I'm always reading these days, even though that's not necessarily equated with me actually comprehending any of the stuff I'm (meant to be) reading. Scanning's a better term for work-related stuff, so my favourite scansions: Montaigne's Essays, Boccaccio's Decameron. Non-work related things which fill the mythical part of my life that makes up leisure time include Thomas Pynchon's Gravity's Rainbow (hard as hell to read on a deadline), Robert Graves' I, Claudius (thoroughly enjoyable and going past too fast for my liking) and some Kawabata.

What's the most enjoyable thing you've done today?

Walked from a 116th down through 56th via Riverside. Amazing views. Spring's finally in the air.

What is the one skill you wish you had?

Endless charisma. More practically, physics.

What is your favourite historical era?

Sengoku Japan makes me very happy.

What's your current fandom/obsession/addiction?

I believe the fandom is Life, pairing K/university. It's rated very much R at the moment.

What's your favourite song to dance to?

I listen to so much electronic music now I'm ashamed to say I have no favourite. Anything between Justice, MSTRKRFT, Soulwax, I don't even know!

What Web sites do you always visit when you go online?

These days? Email. The New York Times. Google Reader.

What was the last thing you bought?

Food. Barring that, replacement earbuds from Sony, so that they may maintain their ridiculous prices and I get to keep my earphones.

Which fictional character do you think you're most like?

A very sad minor character of something, I'm sure.

What book do you think everyone should read?

The Bible. Too many. I don't think you can distil wisdom, these days.

Do you get cravings? If so, what do you crave?

Company, quiet and sanity.

What is the best place you've ever been?

A lot of Japan.

What was the last meal you ate?

Rather good, but overpriced, curry. Garlic nan. Amazing, amazing garlic nan.

Do you want to learn another language?

In the process of, but I'd love to wrench Cantonese back from my forefathers.

Six things you can't live without.

Cell/mobile/whatever-you-call it phone. Laptop. Pen. Notebook. Some form of/access to liquidity. ID.

Find the closest book currently sitting near you and flip to page 54. What is the first sentence of the second paragraph?

Dictionaries don't have numbers, and I can't be arsed to count!

A favourite childhood memory?

Don't remember!

What are you looking forward to?

Travelling in the summer, talking to people on LJ again, sleep, water, life, where my next piece of writing will take me. I'm very afraid of it. I think it might sneak up on me.

new jersey is a bunch of roads, rufus will fuck you up, failure is my middle name, aaaaaaaaaaargh, new york city centre of the universe, mememetoo
