I just sped through a few episodes/seasons of Star Trek: The Next Generation, and I conclude that 1) Data is the best thing since sliced bread, 2) Data and Spock together on screen should just not be allowed, since screens explode upon exposure to such high levels of awesome, 3) Picard is really, honestly scary and intimidating, 4) Will Riker is a ( Read more... )

Data was always my most favoritest. I even had action figures of him. :D

*g* I love Picard's charisma, and I think he has the benefit of having a team that is really amazing. Like, RIKER IS A FRIGGING GENIUS. He is the SHEPPARD OF TNG. And Data! AND WORF. And the Counsellor! AND EVERYONE. People looking after baby!Wes makes me GLEE.

It doesn't hurt that he's got chemistry with Picard coming out the wazoo, or that the actors would look at scripts that say "have this conversation while standing on opposite sides of the room" and go, "no, no actually we should be naked. and in bed together. and I should be stroking his ear, in a post-coital manner. I think that works much better. yes." *loves Tapestry more than is reasonable*

Srsly, once you hit S2 Q, he becomes amazing.

Plus: yes, Data is made of awesomesauce. He remains awesomesauce throughout the series. Others also become awesome, Worf for instance. Particularly with Q. And then there's Chain of Command, which decided to do torture the accurate way. (Yes, because that's so entertaining, gulp, guh.) Which is not awesome but horrifying and heart-breaking and GAH, but I felt the need to throw it out there as something that has to be watched anyway.

*g* Trust me when I say that spoilers and I are best, best friends - I am running through the series in no order, simply jumping back and forth between whatever has more Data or cooler plot premises. 8D

Q scared the shit out of me in the first Q ep, so I didn't snag the others, but clearly THIS MUST CHANGE. Also, re: Picard and naked men, is it just me or does he give out I HAVE SLEPT WITH EVERY HIGH RANKING COMMANDER IN STARFLEET vibes???? Like, WTF, when he talks to the Doc, he's all like, I HOPE YOU DON'T HATE ME as though he slept with the Doc's husband, then with Sarek he's all UR MIND N MINE BUDDY. 8DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

Q is in fact SOOOOOOO SOOOOOOO awesome *nods*

Until Voyager that is, when he FALLS IN LOVE BAH... has lots of shonky things happen to him like kids and respect that makes him not cruel (like it is with Picard mwahahahaha HE OBSESSES OVER PICARD) but even still I can forgive him because he is Q xD

But then I wouldn't recommend touching Voyager for a while... it's weak as a series. The best things about Voyager are The Doctor and 7 of 9. Chakotey to a certain extent... ish. *goes off grumbling and ducking out of the way of Voyager fans*

Oh and Dr. Crusher and Picard it is implied all the way through were lovers... he's definitely a ladies' man is dear Picard. ♥ Doesn't stop Q from being obsessed with him (and Riker to a lesser extent) heee

Oh, I wouldn't say they were lovers... I think he certainly wanted to be, and she wasn't against the idea, but look what happened on Kesspritt! (or however it's spelled...) I think they both enjoy the UST too much...
