Ahmatova & Modigliani
This painting expresses the tragic and fragile beauty of the Russian poet, Anna Ahmatova and her connection with Modigliani, the acclaimed Italian artist who was touched by her incredible poetic talents.
Natalie
A reflection of the St. Petersburg that existed during the time of Alexander Pushkin and a representation
of the women that he portrayed in his timeless masterpieces. This woman reflects the brilliant poetry of
Pushkin and the provocative beauty of the women he loved.
Russian Princess
All my life, I have been influenced by Russian literature and the images of Russian royalty and nobility found in the great works of Tolstoy, Pushkin and their contemporaries. This Russian Princess is my expression of these elegant women that are both timeless and ageless.
Madonna & Child
This painting expresses the eternal love and connection between a mother and her child. It is a celebration of a mother’s love, which is the deepest and most profound love that carries an intense desire to protect her child from the harshness and reality of life.
Geisha
I have always adored the simple elegance and understated beauty of the Japanese culture. The Geisha is an exquisite representation of that culture. Nurtured and groomed to be one of the most artistic women in Japan, well trained in the arts including: music, song, love and entertainment - the Geisha is herself a work of art.
Eternal Love
This painting represents the depths of a mother’s love and how it deepens as her child grows. This love is the most faithful and unconditional of all loves. Like nurturing a garden, this love then bears the fruit of its labor which is the same deep love coming back in return from the child to his mother.
Cleopatra
I have always been mesmerized by the image of Cleopatra, the beautiful and mysterious queen of Egypt. She was the last person to rule Egypt as a Pharaoh. She had infinite strength, power and knowledge. She was educated at time when most women were not. The snake represents her power and ironically, her demise. She ended her own life by allowing herself to be bitten by a snake.
Aphrodite
One of my first paintings, inspired by world renowned Italian master Botticelli, is a representation of the Greek myth of Aphrodite, the goddess of love and beauty born from the spray of the sea. This painting represents renewal, rebirth and innocence.
Love
This painting is an allegory of the power of innocence and the submission of strength. The background represents the Tree of Life and the symbols on the garb represent eternal life and the infinity of god. It is my homage to Austrian painter, Gustav Klimt.
Lady in Blue
I’ve always been intrigued by the feminine mystique. This woman is a representation of the mystery and grace that every woman has within her.
Nefertiti
I have always been intrigued by this Egyptian queen who was such a controversial figure. She was infamous for her beauty, intelligence and her rebellious nature. Her name means: “the beautiful one who came from far away.”
