None of these stanzas goes with any of the others.
*****
Without You, I am nothing -
words without meaning,
art without movement,
sound without purpose.
*****
Christ beside me,
Father guide me,
Spirit hide me.
*****
My identity is You;
let that be all the world sees.
*****
Contain me,
Uncontainable One,
that I might in turn
contain the duality
of this life.
*****
I am broken again in Your presence;
refined in the fire of love.
*****
Re-create me in my true form,
that this Warrior-maiden may flourish in battle
and offer Your grace to the world.
*****
Hands open wide, offering grace -
the undeserved gift of God -
to those who desire
but know not what they require.
*****
The prayer of desperation
that knows not salvation
but believes it will come
through faith.
*****
I am taken by the method and the theology of Celtic prayer. Some of these are attempts to write in that tradition. I don't know enough yet to be good at it, though I think that the first and second are probably the best of the bunch.
