Things have been happening and I've not been blogging. Mostly because I've been being more social with the other people in the house and around town.
For instance, last night I drove to Boulder (following the crazy, circuitous directions the Garmin gave me) to watch Neil Gaiman read the second half of Chapter 7 of The Graveyard Book. He actually started a little farther back than half way to give us some context for what the people in LA on Monday night got: a
Hutchinsss worthy cliff hanger. When Neil shut the book on Monday, the LA crowd screamed "NOOOO!!!" apparently.
After we moved the TV a couple weeks ago, we went to a near by restaurant that used to be Golden Pizza, a buffet style pizza place. Apparently they closed down several years ago and it became a mexican restaurant, which also closed down. Now it's the Hits The Spot Cafe, serving primarily breakfast foods. It's really tasty and pretty affordable; if only it weren't upwards of 15 minutes away.
I was cleaning the bathroom on Tuesday, and went to get something out of a box in the garage (a bucket for the mop, I think) and had to move another box to get to the bucket. On top of the box I moved was the car battery charger I dug out after my battery died (it hasn't died since; though sometimes the driver's side window has trouble rolling up). It's a reasonably heavy steel box, about the size of a car battery. I thought the box was stable, but apparently it wasn't; the charger fell (along with the rest of the box) and landed on my left big toe. It took it a little while to start bleeding, so long in fact that I didn't think it was going to until I looked down and saw it about to drip off my toe and on to the carpet. I dug out my band-aids and wrapped it up, then went back to work cleaning. The band-aid started falling off, so I taped it back down with electrical tape.
At dinner tonight (5 cent burger night at Gunther Toody's)
moon_orchid asked "Why do you have green electrical tape on your toe?" What I should have said was "Because I couldn't find the black." What I actually said was "To hold the band-aid on."
I still haven't done push ups in a while. I did discover that I can do
clap push ups though, so that's something.
And now for something almost completely random:
A
Katamari Wedding Cake. Looks tasty!
