Playing with Fire(arms)

After the sun had been up for a while and warmed the air a bit, Dad and I went out to a patch of Forest Service land set up as a small shooting range. Dad packed the jeep with a small arsenal, mostly hand guns, mostly .22 caliber.

I think my favorite was the pump action rifle, though. Saved a couple of silhouette targets and may scan them in and post them when I get a chance. ;) With the Luger pistol, Dad's preferred weapon, I wasn't too bad ... but I was a lot more acurate with the rifle. We weren't shooting over any great distance though. 20-30 yards maybe into the side of a hill.

When we got home, I started cleaning up an old computer from the glass shop that Mom & Dad don't need, and so are selling it to one of their employees for their daughter to use for homework and what not. I've also been poking at Mom's computer to see why Internet Explorer is broken. Apparently it used to not display web pages at all. Now it displays them, but with a broken (very broken) stylesheet. I think it may actually be that IE isn't using any CSS information, just rendering the raw HTML ... not that it matters for this story.

The solution seems like it might be reinstalling IE6, which can be done with the XP CD (which isn't found at the moment) or by changing the "IsInstalled" value in the registry and installing the download from the microsoft website. The latter doesn't seem to be working. Very annoying. Yay Microsoft! ;)
