As I was about to fall asleep last night, I got a message from someone I didn't recognize on AIM. Something like "Hello, old chap, Have you seen my hat?"
Apparently the other party received the same message, from me. With neither of us sending the first message, we were in a conversation. It was odd ... I figure it was either some sort of spam/malware or some strange sort of social engineering virus, getting random people to talk on AIM. Around the time we figured out that neither of us sent the message and said our goodbyes, I got the same message from someone else. He replied to the message "I" sent with "Nope." so I simply said "Okay. Thanks." and went to sleep. Both of these people had the word "hat" in their username. I do not.
I may post the logs when I get home tonight.
And speaking of work (voice1: "nice segue" voice2: "Thanks!" voice1: "Idiot"), they're finishing the floors this weekend, so starting at 3PM we're moving stuff off the floors and/or into an unfinished space across the hall to have the floors of our office be as clear as possible for the finishing machines. The upshot is, after we finish moving, we're done for the day, since all of the non-server computers are going to be offline.
Also, an interesting side effect (benefit?) of having a field across the parking lot, is the occasional wildlife. Nathan was just talking with Darrel and looking toward the window. He suddenly stops speaking and picks up his binoculars for a closer look at something out there. Darrel and I also stop and look, but don't immediately see what Nathan's tracking. After a moment, we notice a coyote loping down the sidewalk at the edge of the field. Soon enough it's out of sight and the previous conversation resumes.
