The sky has been overcast since yesterday, and raining off and on. Welcome to Fall in the pacific north west.
I'm not sure if the weather is reflecing my mood, or if my mood is a reflection of the weather, but in either case I've been in a funk since yesterday. I didn't write anything for NaNoWriMo last night, for the same reason I went home early. I knew it'd take me hours to get anything productive done.
Went to bed around 10PM and slept fitfully, toggling between too hot and too cold, strange waking dreams all night long, mostly revolving around reading or writing. One even had someone's throughts subtitled in the dream. Very strange. I was reading technical articles, my friends page, writing my novel, etc.
Does anyone else read in their dreams? And the writing is legible? Supposedly text in dreams is supposed to be gibberish, but I've never experienced that ...
The paint fumes are still lingering and if I hadn't scheduled DHL to pickup my laptop at the office this morning, I probably would have stayed home. My first three days as an official employee of Reality Engineering and I either want to go home half way through the day, or not come in at all. Seems like that should mean something ...
Skipped breakfast because I woke up at 8:30 and knew DHL would be at the office anytime between 9 and 5PM ...
Hopefully I'll have a working laptop again in a week or two.
Went to Baja Fresh for lunch, and wrote more of the novel. Still liking where the story's going, and
alarin612 has given me creative freedom in his/our world of Alternia (where all the superheroes live)
Got the new version of the Translation site working (mostly) in Asp.NET, a nice compromise between learning AJAX and hacking / rewriting the old ASP code.
Having the network monitor running in a Virtual PC on my work station is annoying. At least once every thirty seconds, it will take the lion's share of resources to run its tests, which means my computer basically freezes for a few seconds. When typing, I don't see anything happening, then the string of characters I've been typing flies out from the cursor.
Yar.
