For the past couple days I've had a craving for a drink found at a Denver coffee shop, Paris on the Platte, called a Crowbar. I asked
neonphog if he knew what was in one. His response was along the lines of "four shots of espresso, milk and sugar."
Armed with that knowledge, I went into the Starbucks near the office and looked for something similar on their drinks board. I thought the Caffe Mocha might be close, so ordered one of those with a triple shot of espresso. I forgot to mention I wanted it iced, until she had already steamed the milk. At that point I figured I'd just get a hot drink.
The mocha was good, but not what I wanted.
This morning, I went in again and asked for a Caffe Latte, with four shots of espresso, and remembered to say "iced." The barista asked if I had tried a pumpkin spice latte, saying they were really good. I said "No, I haven't ... maybe next time" When she handed me my drink, it sounded like she said "pumpkin spice latte" and, sure enough, that's what I got, which still isn't a Crowbar.
So now, not only do I not have what I wanted, I don't eve have what I ordered.
The apartment hunt doesn't go well either. Stopped by TaCKnoll to find that they are full up at the moment. Stopped in to a couple other complexes advertising "Now Renting!" on the way to work, only to find they were not, infact, renting.
Can I get a 'do over' of the last month or so?
