Today's a short day.
0900-1530 (9a-3:30p)
After work I have to bring the rent cashier's check to the apt office, and also put money on the stupid laundry card so I can do laundry. Best part? The machine that takes the money to put on the card, only takes 5s, 10s and 20s. No quarters, no singles.
Stayed up a bit later than I meant to last night watching Monk, Psych and House MD.
Psych was pretty good, I thought. And House is always fun. It was a rather good episode of Monk as well.
Is it just me, or does Robert Sean Leonard (
Dr James Wilson on House) bear a resemblance to
alarin612?
Also, something interesting happened last night. Before I can tell you that story though, I have to tell you about the apartment. It's two floors, with the second floor smaller than the first. This leaves plenty of room for the vaulted ceiling above the computer area, and it makes it stupidly convenient to get things from the bedroom (upstairs) to the couch (directly below) since there's a halfwall on the open side of the upper floor.
Out of lazyness and/or lack of places to hang things, there is generally some clothes hanging on that half wall. The cats like to pace the wall as well. Not sure why ... *shrug*
Last night I was on the couch, watching TV, below that half wall. All of a sudden, a black shape falls from above and hits my arm. It didn't make any noises, and I didn't see anything behind the couch, but when I sat back down I noticed Kenya (older of the two kittens, black) in the living room, and also a shirt on the back of the couch that wasn't there before. And my arm hurt, as if a kitten had raked it with her claws. Cairo (younger of the two, chocolate point siamese) was still sitting up on the wall.
I'm pretty sure Kenya either slipped on the shirt (unlikely) or jumped onto the shirt on the wall and it slid more than she expected and she toppled down. She seems okay. A few minutes after the fall she hopped up on top of the fridge (a favorite napping spot).
