For a long time we've come in a pair. We're so often thought of together, or said in the same breath, that many have a tendency to confuse which of us is which. Hell, I've been known to do it myself, once or twice.

I get so used to doing things with him that it's weird to do that action without him there. Take the last few weeks as an example. Every week day we drive to Boulder together, go to class, and drive back to Golden. Thursday and Friday this week, he's been backpacking, so I've made the trip alone.

It didn't really register that we're a pair until I went into Noa Noa, a small coffee shop on our way to Boulder. We had become regulars, and when I walked in alone the barristas asked "Where's your friend?" or something similar.

I suppose this is what happens when you live a suburban mile from a friend since kindergarten. Sure, he lived in Boulder for a year or two while going to school, but eventually he moved back to his parents' house.

Slowly, Rojzik has been worked into the fold. Less so, though. Mostly he's associated with us in a package called simply "Da Boys," used to refer to the group of us working in the Geek Gene basement.

Sitting here in Chinese class, waiting to take the oral part of the final, it's weird wierd to have his empty seat next to me.

This is seeming really sentimental, isn't it. Just imagine what I'll blog if [he] dies ... ;P
This seemed longer in the notebook ... Also, this entry seems strangely appropriate now that he's got a live journal ... ;)

friends indeed
