nostalgia

I'm starting to become nostalgic for things that aren't over yet.

It's like that line in "Pet Milk" by Stuart Dybeck - about missing someone you are still with.

I miss waiting in line to check out of Fac Man when it's hot and sticky and I'm so glad the day is over, but have to be back there at 7 am the next day. I miss my house on summer nights when we eat corn on the cob and listen to Bruce.

I'm nostalgic for summer nights at the KIA with Liz. For taking pictures in her backyard during the twilight of a July evening. For lying on the sand in south haven until the sun starts to set and the sand starts to cool. For all the ice cream I eat there with my family and hours I spend in the water.

This is the first year I have known/been friends with some of the seniors and it makes me sad that they are leaving. It also makes me sad for when we are seniors and only have 3 weeks left and then things will never be the same again. It's all moving so fast, I feel as though I'm a senior already. Being at a small school with that highschool aura is weird.

I am scared to leave for 6 months. I'm scared of a lot.

I don't want summer to start because it means it will end very soon.
