Top 5 shows: character's you love, grew to love, and can't stand from 2012.
Choose your top 5 TV shows from this year (in no particular order):
1. Elementary
2. Nikita
3. Supernatural
4. Doctor Who
5. Merlin (I was going to put Switch, but it's Merlin's last season)
The character you never expected to love as much as you do now:
He started off on a bad note, with Sherlock putting him down and how he reacted towards that (with anger and denigration, understandably) but, once Marcus got his barrings, he became a good partner to Sherlock and manages to keep up with him. I look forward to their banter now ;)
While I normally like the moral characters, something just did not work for me with Sean. I have no idea why. I also did not like his relationship with Alex. He seemed to come in, then bam, he's Alex's love interest. After they shoved Owen/Alex down my throat in the previous to latest episode, I enjoyed Sean coming back and saving the day. I loved that even though Alex pushed him away, he was there when she needed him. He didn't give up. I like that a lot :) So basically, because I didn't like the overtness of Owen/Alex, I came on board with Sean :P
Let me love you! When he was first introduced, he was alright. He was smart and funny... okay. Now, Kevin showed how awesome smart and funny is. I love that he protected himself and tried to protect his family/friends. The only reason he failed was because of Sam and Dean. Kevin left the brother's after this, and that is refreshing for the show where the brothers are always right (no matter what).
Alrighty, let me say it. I absolutely loathed Amy's character at the beginning. I did not like Amy's and the Doctor's obsession and overall devotion to one another, and how soon it happened. Then, eventually Rory came in, and we got to see that devotion from Amy again (which I liked in this sense, since they knew each other from childhood). Then we got a love triangle (Doctor/Amy/Rory). I hate love triangles. Luckily, Amy kept her devotion for both men, but stopped obsessing over The Doctor, and we got an explanation for the quickness of their relationship (Amy's face being burned into his heart). Amy's relationship with Rory took presidence. We got to see more of her character (courage, perseverance and even doubt) which gave her more depth, I think. While Amy seemed to be good at too much at times, I enjoyed her character in the later episode and now I hate seeing her and Rory go!
I just adore him.
The character you can’t stand:
I feel like the only one, honestly. He's not to original of a character, besides him being a Vampirite. The new recurring character is a white (nothing new) snarky (nothing new) man (nothing new), who has some sexual tension with Dean (nothing new). I just wish we got a better, more complex, new recurring character. I just can't care less about this character. I did feel bad for him in the last episode though.
Who are your three favorite characters from each show:
Aidan Quinn!!! That is all.
Nikita is just perfection as a leading character, Birkhoff is funny (sometimes creepy though) and Ryan is so noble and sweet. I think their dynamics were so great the last half of season 2, and now in season 3. More of Nikita's perfection (saving everyone through her words or actions), Birkhoff's emotional side (From his feeling for Nikita, shipping Alex/Sean and helping Sonya), and Ryan fighting for the world while trying not to compromise his moral code.
I already explained my love for Kevin, and the Winchester's part in making Kevin epic kind of made me dislike them a bit this season. I don't like their fighting or Sam giving up on Dean and hunting... but that doesn't discount everything else, so their still my favorite character's from this year (because we count the end of last season, which was epic).
I don't think this needs explaining ;)
I don't think I can write this without crying, so I won't. These three made the show for me, and this last series (especially the last episode) brought out the best in them.
