Summary: Angel sends Connor to boarding school, not knowing Buffy had sent her sister Dawn to the same one. What happens when the two troublemakers meet up and become the only ones that can save the student body?
That week Dawn and Connor stayed away from each other during the day. The teachers kept to close and eye on them when they were together. At night they would meet at the cemetery and train-Connor taught Dawn everything he knew.
Any new information they found would be passed through notes. Dawn however liked to use the notes to rant about Mr. Thomsen’s bad toupee or Mrs. Cleveland’s unrequited love for Abraham Lincoln. Theirs just something about that hat that makes girls go crazy. Dawn wrote. Little pieces of scrap paper filled to the edges with words and they always made him laugh.
Tuesday morning, Connor and Dawn went about their normal schedules. They went to home room but didn’t speak to one another and at lunch they didn’t sit together, just as they had this past week. On Dawn’s way out of the cafeteria she brushed by Connor and got his attention. She placed her tray down on the rack and put a note on top for him to see then left. Connor waited a moment and drank the rest of his milk. He placed his tray on the rack and grabbed the note simultaneously.
Once in the washroom Connor opened the note.
Last day, meet me in the dean’s office after curfew. Be careful. It read. Connor smiled at the last two words and ripped up the paper so no one else could read it.
Night came slowly and Connor became restless. When the right time came he went down to the dean’s office. Dawn was already there when he came. “Hey.”
“Hi.” Dawn said with a big smile.
That thing happened with Connor’s stomach again. Once he was at her side he looked down at her as she riffled through some papers on the desk then placed them back to their position. She was getting good at this. He watched her stop suddenly as she read something on a page. “What is it?” Connor asked her.
“We’re on the list.” Dawn said obviously shaken. She dropped the papers and went out the window. Connor saw that she was heading to the cemetery and he followed.
