Am I the only one who is cranky about this whole Nightwing and Starfire are meant to be!!!!!11 crap that has suddenly come up?

Because if Dick is going to end up with anyone who isn't Tim or Bruce or Clark or Roy it should be Barbara, damnit! Isn't it bad enough that Batman/Wonder Woman isn't really canon except in the freaking JLU cartoons? I ( Read more... )

Is this happening in the comics?

I don't really mind, but then I'm heeeavily influenced by kerithwyn (my opinions in comics always stems from the big guns, hehe). And having a tiny woman (why do I know so many tiny women??) assuring me (with the conviction of owning almost all the Teen Titans and New Teen Titans) that Kory did a lot towards shaping Dick's personality and belief system to the way it is now? You'd be sanguine about the Dick and Kory too.

And the more I think about, the more I can easily get on the Dick/Kory bandwagon. I dunno if it makes sense at this point in their lives though. But! It worked before and they were in loooove and yeah. Good times.

Yeah. The Teen Titans go into the future where evil!Titans rule America or something, and they find out that Nightwing left with Starfire to go live happily ever after or whatever. Add to that various other references to the OTP of Nightwing/Starfire in other issues of other things. THEN after the future stuff, you come to find out that the reason Starfire joins Outsiders (which happened recently) was to keep an eye on Dicky cause he's been kind of *insane* lately. I don't mind them getting together at all, really, I just don't like that it's determined by some future people that this Must Be. Also, I don't like the idea of saying they're for good. Like Jack said they most likely wont be.

Here's what confuses me. One or two issues ago of Nightwing, Nightwing left. Like, he isn't Nightwing anymore. And yet he's still in Outsiders and he's still apparently Nightwing as far as the Teen Titans comic is concerned. So, is this just something that will come into play in later Outsiders/TT issues? (We only just found out about Tim's dad ( ... )

Yeah, I've only read single issues here and there of Kory/Dick, but I grew to accept them. But, you know, it might just not be the appropriate thing for now, what with Dick being all Babs-centric and stuff. *hee* I dunno, maybe Kory is usually there to pick up the pieces of Dick and put him all back together again?

Anyway, *lol* It's like Robin and TT as well. Tim left being Robin, and yet he was still in the TT issues for a bit or something. Gah, that's it, I'm picking up my fucking comics today. I'm sick of being stupid!

Well, you know, I don't think reading comics will help with that....

(just kidding! ;)

er, this sentence was supposed to look more like...

Like Jack said they most likely won't be, but it still kind of bothers me.

*g* I'm tickled that I've been such a formative influence. :D

I should clarify, though--I was all about the Dick/Kory *then.* It was a terrific relationship that had everything to do with shaping the Nightwing we know. But a lot of time's passed since then, and I think that ship has sailed. So to speak. Dick/Kory 4Evah? Not so much.

It *is* entirely appropriate, though, for Kory to be one of the influences that puts Dick back together now. And...I'm not entirely allergic to the idea of a brief reconciliation, though honestly, I'd rather see it go like this:

Kory: *glues Dick back together*
Dick: Therefore I love you again always. Let's have sex.
Kory: ...*sigh* Love to, but been there, done that, lived through the break-up. Go make up with Barbara, doofus.
Fandom: o.O !!!111!!!!

...yeah. Like that. ;)

That scenario sounds really fabulous, actually. Dick is so needy, LOL.

And I think it makes sense for Kory to kick him back into shape now, because she's more or less apart from the situation, and Batman, and Gotham, etc. I just want them all to be a happy!dysfunctional family again, and not the current broken!dysfunctional family. :(

God, so do I. But I don't know we're going to see that, not for a long while. All this solo angst seems to be the rage.

Ugh, which doesn't make much sense to me. Don't they know that group angst is much more fun? Tim in Bludhaven feels so *wrong*
