2009 reading list

Yep, folks, it took me long enough! I wanted to wait until I had a few to post, because a list with only 3 books on it seems silly to post, but I've been distracted. So here I am posting my list for the first time this year 5 months into the year! lol For those who don't know, I read a lot and post my reading list (books that I've finished) periodically.

I'm still trying to read 50 books this year, and as you can see, I'm behind. But I don't feel like I'm out of this. I get way more reading done in the summer than any other time of the year. And I have about 7 books of that True Blood series to read (I'm pretty sure I can inhale those books in a week). And I'm in a much better "reading mood" overall because I've read more good books than cuddy ones.

1. The Tales of Beetle the Bard by J.K. Rowling
2. Dewey: The Small-Town Library Cat Who Changed the World by Vicki Myron
3. Princess Academy by Shannon Hale
4. The Sound and the Fury by William Faulkner
5. Born on a Blue Day: Inside the Extraordinary Mind of an Autistic Savant by Daniel Tammet
6. Fasting Girls: The History of Anorexia Nervosa by Joan Jacobs Brumberg
7. The Nonrunnner's Marathon Guide for Women: Get Off Your Butt and on With Your Training by Dawn Dais
8. What-the-Dickens: The Story of a Rogue Tooth Fairy by Gregory Maguire
9. We Wish to Inform You That Tomorrow We Will Be Killed with Our Families: Stories from Rwanda by Philip Gourevitch
10. Death Be Not Proud by John Gunther
11. Grendel by John Gardner

I'm a little more than half-way through The Good Earth by Pearl S. Buck. After that, I'm not sure what I'm going to read. I'm a little anxious to get into some fun summer reading, so I might get into that sooner than later. One thing that I just noticed looking at my 2009 list is that I haven't done any rereading. I know for a fact that I'll be rereading Half-Blood Prince, so this isn't the year to not reread. I think it's because I've bought more books than usual and there are so many good ones! So many books, so little time! lol
