My great aunt ruthie died a couple of days ago.

WILLIAMSTOWN -- Ruth Miriam Marsh, 81, of 75 Emerald Lane died Thursday at Williamstown Commons, where she had resided for two weeks.

Born in Mechanicville, N.Y., on April 20, 1924, daughter of Ralph P. and Mabel Byrne Lansing, she graduated in 1942 from Mechanicville High School and attended Mildred Elley Secretarial School in 1943.

Mrs. Marsh was a secretary and dispatcher for the Mechanicville Police Department. Before that, she was employed as a personnel clerk for the former Westvaco Paper Mill in Mechanicville.

She was a member of Blackinton Union Church in North Adams and enjoyed bird watching, music and reading.

She and her husband, James E. Marsh, were married April 17, 1953. He died Oct. 30, 1976.

She leaves two sisters, Shirley J. Hiser of Williamstown, with whom she made her home, and Phyllis E. Pierce of Westlake, Ohio.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Ruth Miriam Lansing Marsh, who died Thursday, Dec. 22, 2005, will be held at the convenience of the family in Blackinton Union Church. Interment will be at a later date. In accordance with her wishes, Mrs. Marsh has donated her body to science at Albany (N.Y.) Medical College. Memorial donations may be made to Blackinton Union Church through AUGE-SAN SOUCIE-SIMMONS FUNERAL HOME, 46 North Church St., North Adams, MA 01247, which is in charge of arrangements. She also leaves eight nieces, a nephew, and several grandnieces and grandnephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Barbara B. McKnight.

isnt it cool that she donated her body to science though?
