I had the weirdest ninja visit this morning. My regular doctor was booked, so I opted to see his nurse-practicioner. I don't remember her being a total space cadet, though. I hope she was high on allergy medicine or having a terrible day, because if she's like that with all the patients, it's no wonder hospitals get a bad rap.

"How are you doing?"

C-sections are done only for emergencies. That's what they tell the insurance companies. However, what they define as emergencies is somewhat slippery.

I'd be happy to talk to you about this, if you like. However, I can't speak to what they do at Cedars, as I've never worked there.

Yeah, that's my problem. I want to make sure everyone involved has the same definition of "emergency" before it's time to deliver this kid. >:(

It seems pretty obvious to me that she isn't really fully trained on what was necessary to see you and was probably only doing it because they were overbooked or something. It may have been the first time she had done something like this and she was winging it!

Hey, wait, are you seeing Dr. Brock at Cedar Sinai? He's my gyno doc, too!

AND I had an interaction with that woman yesterday that made me cry. I was going to complain to Dr. Brock.

She made you cry? Fuck her, then. I complained to the receptionist when I rescheduled my appointment. "I don't know if she's having a bad day or what, but she was totally ignoring me and she seemed really out of it. I'd like to never see her again, thanks."

Dr. Brock is pretty good, and the rest of the staff are really nice, but I've now heard from 3 other people that if his NP was any dumber they'd have to water her. Lesson learned. ;)

Yeah, she just acted like I was some kind of idiot for asking the question and that I was wasting her time. I'm insecure about medical shit in the first place, and I feel like the medical professionals I've been dealing with, excepting Dr. Avakian, haven't given a shit about me and they seem disgusted that instead of trying to "fix" my fibroid-plagued uterus somehow, or just dealing with two giant, rock-hard grapefruit inhabiting my abdomen, I'd rather have it removed.

I mean, I can feel this fucking thing when I lay down on my stomach. It makes sex uncomfortable and bending over painful sometimes. I want it fucking out of me. I don't want people saying "You're 33 for chrissake!" while laughing at my questions.

dr. grieg refused to remove my uterus completely as i was "just a baby" at 33 last dec when he removed my 21 "babies", but at least he knows what the hell he's doing which is more than i can say for danielle who "must've missed" the orange-sized fibroid (along w/ 21 others) in my uterus (the size of a 2nd trimester pregnancy.) i know how you feel, miss locopuff!
