So.. the cat's out of the bag. Well, not literally-- that'll be a while-- but now that y'all know, there's a couple of other things you need to know, too. I'm not trying to be a bitch, but I do want to avoid having a meltdown about this in a few months, so lemme say a few things right at the start ( Read more... )

This. Thankfully people over here are much more reserved about belly touching (cos Germans are total submissive weenies) and wouldn't dare encroach on someone else's personal bubble.

Or... just carry a baseball bat.

But I can't cram a baseball bat in my bag. I'll see if I can find my pepper spray. ;)

Off topic but I've been meaning to catch up with you on this - how is Maddie turning out with feeding? Is she being the typical MGB - hide-y and fussy or (hpoefully) a glutton?

She's still kind of a picky eater.. I've been putting her in a nice warm dark box with a pinkie about every week, and she ignores probably every third one. :/

On the other hand, she still does all the typical snakey things.. crawls all over when we take her out of the tank, digs through in her bedding, loves the water dish.. so the infrequent eating doesn't seem to affect her. Maybe she just doesn't eat much?

Well her other behaviour all points to a happy healthy snake. Well done. It's just one of those things ya gotta deal with, MGB's & Dumerils are fussy eaters. The end. The fact that she eats at all is good. My Dumerils ate I think once in the 6 months I had her.

She was also the only snake that ever bit my eye. Hmmm..
