Michelle Bachmann puts her foot in it
again:
"I find it interesting that it was back in the 1970s that the swine flu broke out then under another Democrat president Jimmy Carter. And I'm not blaming this on President Obama, I just think it's an interesting coincidence."
Is there anything Obama can’t do? Not that she’s blaming him for anything, she’s just *saying* is all.
Ok really. This is just getting stupid.
- The last swine flu outbreak was in 1976 was when Ford (R) was president, not Carter (D). Carter took over in ’77.
- As epidemics go, it was kind of a bust. There was a mass freakout, but just 200 people got sick, and only one person died. (source)
- Obama has been president for 100 damn days. He’s had enough to do without masterminding a global pandemic, too. If we’d elected Cobra Commander (R-Cobra Island) maybe…
- It’s not like Congress had to cut public health funding from the stimulus package in order to get Republican support-wait, what? http://www.usatoday.com/news/health/2009-04-27-flumoney_N.htm
Oops.
I know some liberals would huff and puff and say, “why that’s outrageous! She shouldn’t be allowed to say those things!” I would disagree. Keep on talking, Ms. Bachmann. Please drive more non-stupid people away from the GOP.
