I actually WOOHOO’d in my car when I heard the news this morning.
Gitmo’ is no mo’
Yes, I know it won't be tomorrow.
Yes, it will be a legal mess while we figure out what to do with everyone.
But Guantanamo Bay is closing, torture is officially banned, the secret prisons are getting shut down, and we're back to obeying the Geneva Conventions like a civilized country. Plus, we're sending an actual UN Ambassador and not a presidential crony to the Middle East. It almost seems like there’s actually someone with common sense in charge, and I'm not used to that. This is gonna be so weird.
