I thought I should just put something up here.
Since I never know what to use my personal journal for, anyway...
So, um, to celebrate GERMANY'S VICTORY!!! I personalized my work uniform.
Not much you can change when you work at the pool, and everything is a) issued by the city, or b) has to survive hours of sunlight and chlorine, sooo... I tried! Lol
All I can do is hair-ties! OTL
But notice how the black tank top, red logo, and yellow whistle form a subtle harmony that echoes the prevailing theme of ---
No wait, it's useless.
There's no way to personalize my uniform. I give up.
What would I do if Poland actually played well enough to make the World Cup?
How about pasting half my body in the heavy-duty latex paint that we call sunscreen, and then letting the other sunburn to a crisp! The Walking Flag y/y?
A 9-5 job might have it's good points, but one thing that's definitely nice about working 1-9 is that I can watch the World Cup if the games are early enough. And then I go to work all enthused about football and most everyone doesn't care... So I have to represent! Or something like that.
Denmark was actually my #1 team this year, but I like Germany a lot, too. Unfortunately the next semifinal is later in the day so I can't watch it, nooo...
Also, I had a pretty strange dream last night.
Some parts are hazy, but I remember walking though this large city park with lots of trees.
It was in Iceland.
I know it was in Iceland, because when I had to move out of the way of a guy on the sidewalk I remembered to say "Afsakaðu."
And he nodded in passing and said several sentences in response. Of which I of course didn't understand a word. I wondered to myself if it's normal for Icelanders to greet complete strangers so thoroughly...
Then somehow or other I found myself somewhere completely different, in a large hall full of people and tables. Where I talked with Hinako Seta. In German.
Except my German was so poor that she had to switch to English. It would have been pretty embarrassing if not for the fact that I was wondering if she knew that I was currently scanlating one of her doujins, because she was very nice and didn't seem mad. Then there was this comic book that she said was 80 cents, but later she said it was over $4. It wasn't a doujinshi or a manga, it was literally a comic book. I had only planned to buy it because it was 80 cents, but then I was stuck buying this thing I didn't want.
Yep. That was my dream. XD
