Glee liveblog! May be a little sparse in places, because I'm eating taco salad, and I can only multitask so much.
Kurt looks really unimpressed. Blaine is pretend!flirting hard. Dalton is really gorgeous. Ooh, I think I may have called it--Misery is being switched out at the last minute for another song, I bet.
Yay, Kurt! Blaine, meet brutally honest bitch!Kurt. Hang around long enough, and you will get to know him very, very well. And that needed to be said, too.
Rachel! Heee! I thought the eggs were going with Jessie, but haaa.
"I cry every time I sing a solo." Oh, Rachel, Rachel. :)
Quinn's VO is kind of scary. I take it that's her mom's collection of crowns?
Oh no, Pavoratti!
The Warblers are hilarious in their hide-boundness. And Kurt has a skull lapel pin. Does anybody else think he shops at Hot Topic with Tina every now and then? Might explain the bondage pants from "Never Been Kissed," too.
I'll be honest, I was hoping for a more emotional setting for "Blackbird" but the song is still beautiful. (Where is the phantom guitar coming from?)
Ohh, there it is. I think Blaine just fell in love. Interesting little parallel to "Don't Cry for Me, Argentina."
BWAHAHA SUE!! (What was Sue doing on Spring Break in '96?) "World War Sue!"
Quinn is playing Rachel like the phantom Warbler guitar...
YAY! I want to hear everyone's crazy original songs.
Aww, Brit/Santana, you gonna break my heart again? Poor Santana. "Tweedle Dum and Tweedle Fake-Boobs." Yikes, that's a bad prank.
Awww! That's a nice little callback to BICO. Doesn't really solve what you were talking about in getting other voices heard, Blaine--and definitely not very fair (though ND is seldom fair, either)--but I give you half-credit for trying.
OHHH, so excited! "TROUTYMOUTH!" (Tina's playing the piano!) And I am dying from these lyrics.
Oooh, Puck, you almost didn't get Fat-Bottomed Girls. "Bigass Heart." Why didn't they do a Regionals CD so we could get all these hilarious, hilarious original songs.
"On top of what?" Thank you, Finn, for that very Finn reaction.
Aww, Blaine. That was lovely. Much faster than I thought it would be, but I liked it. (And you called it,
lls_mutant, Kurt sitting down for the first kiss.
"Hell to the No": by far my favorite actual original song. (BRITTANY!! I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!)
Tina Cohen-Loser. Oh my, Sue. I do like that they're writing one of these songs as a group. They need some group bonding.
Thank you, Rachel, for remembering Beth. Quinn really has things...scarily planned. But she did just give Rachel the seed for a song. Return of Diva!Rachel? I do believe so.
She forged the letter? And slept with Jimmy Eat World's drummer? Ookay.
Judging panel: Ha, I love to hate Rod Remington; as close to a Sarah Palin cameo as we're ever going to get; and Sister Mary Constance.
I'm sorry, I can't even comment on the weird hilarity of "Jesus is My Friend."
Okay, so why did Blaine pick a break-up song to sing with the guy he wanted to make out with? "Couldn't see when it was you and me" and "looks like a solo tonight" when it's not a solo for once is what they're hanging their hat on, I guess.
I love how weirdly emotional Puck always gets at competition.
Ha, I love that the Warblers are making fun of themselves, especially with the fig leaf move. And yet they still did the fig leaf at the end? So, they're...embracing their uptightness by cutting loose by being uptight? Ignore me.
Solois is entering from the side of the stage, not the back for once! They must've locked the doors. (Though Kurt, why did you have to point that out? We all know it.) YAY, Tina is singing featured back-ups for once (I think?)! I hate to quibble, but this isn't really show choir (yeah, you don't do choreo to speak of on ballads, but it's light even for a ballad), but I still like it.
However, whoever chose their costumes should be shot. Combat boots? How the hell do you dance in combat boots. Oh, because they stomp in them? Still hating the dresses and leggings.
The "dirt" is literal? Huh, clever. I <3 your fannishness, Kurt. :) (Not going to lie, was hoping for a Kurt reaction shot on the locker/someday I'll be your boss line.) Choreo for all the groups was pretty rough this time, but that's what last-minute choreo looks like, I suppose. They looked like they were having a blast anyway. Overall, the performances were infectiously fun. I really enjoyed Regionals.
And now we have five minutes for an announcement of the winners and wrap-ups? Also, I'm curious how they're going to handle Kurt's eventual transfer now that he didn't make the call before Regionals. It is going to look more like he's jumping ship for a winning choir, even if we the viewers know that's not why.
"I am not a witch." :) "Is it a gay school, or is it just a school that appears gay?" "May I add some Rod to this lady stew?" "I twittered that Obama is a terrorist." That was very crazily meta. They're so happy, though!
SUE! HOLY FRAK!
Awww, Rachel, you're gonna make me tear up.
Fun episode. For all the music, it really didn't feel overstuffed to me. I mean, yeah, there wasn't a lot of plot, but what was there moved quite well.
Coming in April: The Legion of DOOOOM!
Also: If you want to hear what Kurt's original song would've been (thank you, Chris Colfer), you really need to watch the Behind-the-Scenes video for this episode at
