All right, so you already know the (nascent?) controversy. Afterelton.com was reporting that the "Face of the Enemy" webisodes were not going to be on the Season 4.5 DVD because they weren't listed as "bonus" material on the discs in NBC/Universal's press releases. I e-mailed Universal Home Video Customer Service and asked if the webisodes were going to be on the DVD, saying I assumed they were, but since they were as much a part of the show as a regular episode, they simply weren't listed as "bonus" material. (I wanted to ask if they'd just frakked their press release up, but I figured that wouldn't get me a great answer). Here's the response I got back:
Response (CustomerService1)
Dear ****,
Thank you for your email.
We'd love to tell you more about our products, but unfortunately what you see on the site is all the information the supplier has given us. Sorry we don't have more detailed info for you!
I am sorry that your experience with our online store has not been a positive one, and I appreciate you giving me the opportunity to resolve this issue.
If you need any further assistance, please let me know.
Best regards,
****
So, apparently, nobody knows! The press release is all the info anybody but the actual suppliers seem to have, so there's no way to tell whether FotE was actually left out, whether FotE is on a disc but they can't list webisodes as "bonus" material according to the new screenwriters contracts (and the press release only lists bonus material, not which episodes are on each disc), or whether there's just been a snafu in the marketing department and they forgot to list it. I guess it'll be a surprise as to whether "Face of the Enemy" ends up on the DVDs or not.
