Fascinating! That moment when the One pulled out the elephant was really pretty chilling. Felix already falling into human thinking... it makes me feel like this whole model line is very... passionate. Whole hearted and whole believing. Plus a few nice jabs at canon ;) And very chilling knowing the end of the story.

Thanks! Yes, I wanted one trait common to all the members of that line, and I decided extreme dedication and not being able to do things in halves was a fitting one for a line that included the Felix of Galactica we know. And for as good as Pegasus!Felix is at playing a human, that trait is his undoing because it's a bad trait for a spy to have: he inhabits his role so well that his loyalties get mixed up in the process.

Thanks! I'm glad the restraint works dramatically, because I don't think I could write that darkness explicitly. As much as One creeps me out, he's so interesting to write, though.

This AU always makes me wonder why the other models didn't have a problem with the sleeper program in the first place. The whole program, even if it was limited to Boomer, is just so dangerous to what little self-identity the models have. I find it odd that One was overtly manipulating Boomer's memories, the other models knew that, but never questioned whether he was the reason they couldn't remember the Final Five. This is just such a fascinating AU.

I always wondered about the logic behind the sleepers, too. In this AU, my explanation (that's alluded to here, but not spelled out) is this: the Cylons remember that at one point in time, they all agreed to wipe their memories, but of course they don't know what they wiped. One cheated and didn't wipe his own memories, and he's pretty sure that the other Cylons would not be happy about some of the things that One had done in that forgotten time, if they ever found out.

Cue the Defectives. Defectives are individual Cylons for whom the wiping process didn't work perfectly; they remember bits and pieces from that forgotten time. This unsettles several Cylon models so much that many of the Defectives are boxed. One comes up with a better solution: reprogramming them. So, the sleeper program is really a test as to whether Cylons can be reprogrammed, and they only put Boomer (and Felix) on Galactica to test whether the reprogramming works, even in high-stress and strange situations. It's not a perfect solution by any means, but it' ( ... )

The idea that Galactica Felix is a defective cylon...ouch. Poor boy doesn't fit in anywhere.

I'm really curious to see what happens post Monster too.

I know, I never make Felix's life easy, but being defective is a good thing from the human point of view--it means he's not a programmed killing machine, but he actually has memories and feelings and can think for himself.

Thanks for reading!

Oh god this verse. I actually feel like I'm missing something as I haven't seen The Plan, but I still understood enough of it to be really creeped out by Cavil. Pegasus!Felix is such an interesting counterpoint to Galactica!Felix here, in that he is already showing signs of being human, even while he wants to completely reject the "broken" version of his model. I'm intrigued to see what other story you plan to tell in this world.

I made most of it up. :) The only thing that's really from The Plan is Cavil's wooden elephant. In The Plan, he'd put that in Boomer's bunk every time he wanted to set off her sleeper programming. I'm glad you could follow the story without having seen The Plan! Thanks for reading!
