I promised myself I wouldn't post this until Lee and Felix finally got it on. So, two scenes to go, then I'm done with both my big bangs! Here are some things of note I ran across when I was in need of writing breaks and went surfing...
- Still no word of an official start date for Reise (which is actually Riese, but I'm unofficially changing the name from here on out, in deference to the wisdom of the German speakers among my f'list), but there is a mysterious tweet about Felicia Day somehow being involved in Riese now. Um, awesome!
- Sad news for a couple shows I like: both Penny from The Big Bang Theory and Spartacus from Spartacus: Blood and Sand are out of commission for a while. The actress who plays Penny broke her leg a day before filming on a new episode began, so they had to write her out of that episode. The production is taking a short hiatus, but it's unclear how many more episodes she may have to miss while she recovers.
The actor who plays Spartacus was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma at the end of Season 1. The cancer went into remission after a round of treatment between seasons, but about the time he started training for Season 2, the cancer came back. That in and of itself is sad, and there's no such thing as a "good" time to have cancer, but I feel especially bad for this guy. He's probably worked his whole life to get a major role on a TV show. Now, there may not even be a show to come back to once he recovers. Spartacus is kind of the one character they can't really write around for a few episodes to keep the series going in his absence. The show's name is "Spartacus," after all, and since he's a historical figure, there are certain limitations on how creative the storytelling can get with his character. Anyway, I wish them both a speedy recovery.
- More (not quite as) sad news: You may have heard that MGM is in debt up to its eyeballs (if it had eyeballs) and is desperately searching for a corporate white knight to bail them out. Well, while that hunt continues, some of the movies it's distributing are suffering. It seems that they're having problems footing the bills for the next Bond movie and The Hobbit. Also of note, MGM has bumped back the release date of Joss Whedon's Cabin in the Woods indefinitely. (!) Apparently, they don't even have enough money to put together an advertising campaign for it, so it and some other films that are already completed are sitting on MGM's shelves, gathering dust. Not cool.
- More Glee-ful news (bad pun, I know): Glee's doing a Rocky Horror episode! Directed by the choreographer dude from So You Think You Can Dance! (Not Nigel--the cute one). ::writes self a reminder to see Rocky Horror from beginning to end once::. Also, Eric Stolz (aka Daniel on Caprica) is directing an episode? Which, hey, cool! ::writes self yet another reminder to catch up on Caprica::
- It's been a long time since I've heard about a march on Washington and thought, "Hey, that's a really good idea!" Leave it to Jon Stewart:

And on that note, happy weekend, all! ::runs off to wrangle her muses for last two scenes of "Sanctuary." Baltar is pouting that he's the only character in this whole thing who doesn't get any. (But you get to be noble, I say!)::
