Thanks! Yeah, that's the only explanation I could think of for how he could've not had wings during the miniseries but had them by the time the series got going, so it worked out nicely. I wasn't really planning on doing more with this, but I guess you never know. It was a lot of fun, so if inspiration strikes...

I think that was actually the explanation offered in a scene that was never shot in season 1. That and the "jumping beyond the red line".

Ah, I knew I read it somewhere! Thanks for the reminder.

Heeee! That was fun!! (Someone felt like procrastinating her studying, huh? :) ) Poor Gaeta, getting humiliated walking into the Viper Pit there. I can SO see that happening to early Gaeta. (And Skulls. And still- HAMISH. Blech.)

I'm glad you mentioned baby formula, too. It always bugged me that Chief gave Nicky a bottle later. (Although, I take that back. Cally's milk probably dried up when she was in detention (or at least it played havoc on her supply) and it was probably pumped from someone else.) But still.

And I LOVE Dee upping the bridge bunny cut!!!!

Help me out here... what is baby formular? My dictionary does not know.

Baby formula is what babies are fed if they're not breastfed or as a supplement to breastfeeding. I think it's a mix of cow milk, vitamins, fatty oils, etc., to try to get close to the same nutritional value as breast milk.

And it smells TERRIBLE.

You can make it out of soy, too, which means you could probably make it out of algae, but ugh.

(It really does smell awful, though. Toby refused to nurse, and I hated nursing Trevor, so I fed it to both my boys, and ugh. I do not miss bottles!!)

Wonderful fun and not all that crackish when you consider that canon included a number of freighters and that they never seemed to run out of stuff until after New Caprica (even then it was only because of the bacteria in the food processing). They clearly had supplies and some manufacturing capacity.

Loved the teasing and Lee's musing about the difference between Galactica, his prior postings, and how far he could push the joke as a CAG. Gaeta and Skulls getting embarrassed was just delightful, because yes, that's exactly the type of teasing gossip that goes on in a closed environment. Loved Dee's retaliating for the teasing by upping the bridge bunnies's share.

Very fun & much more productive than actual studying ;D

Yeah, I guess we don't *really* know what was on all those freighters--they might've gotten lucky and found some that were carrying useful stuff. (I was tempted to throw in one that was carrying something absolutely random useless in space, like sunscreen or garden sprinklers, but I just kind of got going on other stuff.)

I didn't start out with the purpose of writing about Lee trying to figure out his role on Galactica, but it turned out to be kind of fun. And Gaeta and Skulls--like the pilots, I found them to be too easy of targets to pass up the opportunity. ;)

Thanks!

Love the Viper Pit. Wish we'd had more of that on the show...

Thanks! I rarely ever write pilots, but it was surprisingly fun, especially pitting them against the CIC folks I usually focus on.

This was a lot of fun! I like stories featuring Lee at the beginning of the show. It was when he still made sense.

If I was a pilot, I'd be chasing after cigarettes madly. I'd probably try and make friends with Cottle. ;)

Thanks! I liked Lee here, too, which is rare for me.

Yes, because no matter what, Cottle would find a way to get cigarettes. He'd be even better than being friends with enterprising bridge bunnies. :)

Thanks for reading!
