Hey all!
So, I'm banging out Chapter 8 of Mathematics--I think I'm about half-way done--and I've come across two details I'm not sure how to handle:
1. How do Colonials talk about dates, specifically years? I decided to go with normal days of the week, but how would a Colonial say the equivalent of "the Summer of '69" or "the Stock Market Crash of 1929"?
2. I need the Cylons to have some kind of symbol, like how each colony has a version of its respective zodiac sign on its flag. I considered using Ophiuchus, the thirteenth zodiac sign, but I don't think the Cylons would identify themselves with the Thirteenth Tribe, pre-finding Earth. I'm a bit stumped, because the Cylons don't seem to be all that interested in art or visual symbols in the series.
Any help brainstorming would be much appreciated!
Edited to add: Thanks so much for the suggestions, everyone! I found a way to side-step the date issue, which was getting way too complicated, since it was a pre-Attacks date. The plain flag ended up working really, really well, I think.
Thanks again! ::goes back to writing::
