I had the privilege of meeting the lovely Snow Patrol recently on their concert here in the Philippines. Although it was actually SO SO SO quick because I think they were pressed for time. Traffic was terrible and of course because of the aftermath of the rains, the floods made some roads still unpassable. So anyways, when I finally saw them, they all lined up in a row and ready to take a shot with us. I stopped in front of Gary and we just looked at each other for like a minute before finally hugging, lol. He bent over and I almost gave him a quick peck on the cheek but decided not to, lol. It was an awkward hug at first but it warmed itself quickly when he asked me how I was…to which i replied “hi, I have a gift for you” LOL oh dear.:) Then I gave Tom an awkward handshake too. I tried to look pretty for meeting them but then I looked and felt like a potato lol :)
As my fellow meet and greeters were headed outside we saw Johnny just casually typing away on his laptop. If my new friend (one of them, Anna, I met her there in line last night haha!) hadn’t said hi to him I would never have noticed because he was almost perfectly camouflaged with the background. O_O We asked if we could take a photo and he put his laptop down (quite dangerously too if I might add, he let it stand sideways O_O ) and took photos with us, even group shots. When I took my gift out to give to the boys..
me: this is a present for you guys (me holding up the parcel, yes UP because I have realized that I have hobbit blood standing next to Irishmen and Scottishmen O_O)
Johnny: oh that’s nice, what is it? (taking the parcel and looking interested)
me: one’s a book, that’s for Gary and the others are instruments for you guys.
Johnny: oh wait sorry, they’re all for Gary?
me: oh no no, just the book. the others are for you guys, be careful because they’re fragile, they’re instruments.
Johnny: (looking more curious now) these are instruments? really? how?
me: you’ll see when you open it.there are two there though so you have to designate two people to play them.
Johnny: well since they’re instruments, they’re all mine then. (smiling mischievously at me O_O)
me: ahhh well…that’s for you to sort out with the boys
Johnny: no sorting, all mine.
and then he gave me a warm hug too as we took a photo:)
The entire concert was PERFECT. They opened with Hands Open to which I cried to, followed by Take Back the City which I also cried to. They played ALL my favorite songs except for An Olive Grove Facing the Sea. The lighting was amazing too, their lightsman deserves an applause, I loved it so much! Fallen Empires was so impressive..it was insane..next to Berlin it’s my favorite on the new album and I just swelled with joy when I heard it, then cried again at Chocolate, lol :) These are all happy tears though.:3 Gary made some usual jokes, and he laughed so hard whenever the spotlight was on Nathan because you could totally hear the crowd dominated by women’s screams. Everytime he sung the “ooh” parts in Just Say Yes the women in the crowd would go wild and Gary just laughed away and looked at Nathan.
On a personal note: I always thought Pablo to be the most attractive to me but Nathan, oh wow….OH WOW haha :) He makes me want to smile with no purpose haha :) Gary was looking rather thin though, but happy.:) Tom, Pablo, and Jonny, our normal calm boys:) and now another added man to my list of favorite people, Johnny, who was looking EXTREMELY handsome last night :)
thank you for an awesome night Snow Patrol..and for sympathizing AND empathizing with us as you experienced the typhoons here with us xSo actually it was SO SO SO quick because I think they were pressed for time.
