Nothing says fun like a newly discovered sulfa allergy! Or being jittery-exhausted due to the cortisone shot the nice doctor at the ER ordered for you.


Ingredients:
5 pound pork butt, whole
0.25 cup low sodium soy sauce
0.25 cup hoisin sauce
0.25 cup black soy sauce
2 tbsp honey
2 tbsp sugar
0.25 cup vermouth (or dry sherry)
1 tbsp garlic powder
1.5 tsp five spice powder
14oz can of chicken broth

Throw everything but pig into crockpot and stir to mostly combine. Add pig. Cook with the fat side up for 90 minutes, flip it, cook with fat side down 90 minutes, etc. etc. until it shreds with a fork. Shred it in the braising liquid, then scoop out tasty pork to eat. Store leftovers about 3/4 covered in broth.
