A-viking I will go
So earlier today, I'm chilling at the laundromat wishing I had remembered to bring a book, when it suddenly dawns on me that this weekend is the Ashville Viking Festival! I was hoping to go last year, but my reenactment group ended up having a show in a different part of the state on the same weekend. This year we're not doing the April show so I have the weekend free! I'd really like to go in garb even though it's going to be about 90 degrees - lightweight wool really is breezier than most people would expect, and I'm not planning to do any fighting anyhow. It sounds like a lot of fun and something to tide me over until ORF in the fall.
I also got a call from a friend on MarCon staff and volunteered to work in the dealer's room that Sunday. So if all goes well, I will be able to go to the Con free or nearly free. Now to see if I can convince my Pittsburghers to come out for the occasion like last year...
