Heh, whoever h4xx0rd my credit card tried to open an Amazon account with it. Amazon apparently monitors these things, recognised the card as mine, and cancelled their orders and then closed their account. Never mind that the card itself is invalid as of Wednesday when I called it in. Have fun with that closed account, bucko!
Hours and hours of nailbiting gaming tonight. There was almost a not-happy ending tonight, but 4th ed. makes for a very tactical, teamwork-oriented game, and we pulled it off! Now we are level 2 gods with our new magic items.
TMJ has been particularly annoying lately, so I decided to call around and see what sort of things might be covered by my insurance. Found out that TMJ treatments are not covered by either medical or dental plans. Paying out of pocket for this stuff will be harsh, but having a jaw that will probably not work in another five years will be harsher. What really makes me disappointed is that if any other joint - any! - had the audacity to stop working properly, it would be considered arthritis and would have been properly covered. But TMJ? Apparently not a valid enough problem. Nuts to my insurance companies... I should poke around and see what affordable supplementary insurance is out there that might cover something like this.
Also found out that my USAir Visa card is being converted to a USAir Mastercard. This would not be a problem, except that the switchover date is about halfway through my trip in Finland. Of course, the new card is not being mailed out until 2 days before I leave for my trip, so it will not arrive in time. So now I will have to get an entirely new card, or dust off my old Capital One card, in order to have a reliable money source while overseas. In spite of being part of the Star network, my National City check card failed at Osuuspankki ATMs so I had to rely on my Bank of America card - perhaps because National City isn't a large enough bank to be recognised? I'm not sure. But I do hope that I can get a completely different card that will work over there, because after an hour or so on the phone with BoA, the bank issuing the new card (Barclays Delaware) and various USAir peons, it doesn't look like I can get an extension, receive the new card earlier than planned, or anything. So I will probably continue to use the USAir cards until I've accumulated enough points for a flight, and then cancel that bullshit. If they can't accomodate a customer who's paying $90 annual fee for the top notch card, then I'm happy enough to save that money and find myself another mileage card.
Oh yeah, and finally, I found out that AEP has been double-charging me for my electric bill. So that also required some serious straightening out.
I would really, really like my electronic tax refunds to come through right about now. That would be excellent.
I would also really, really like a backrub. But for now, sleep!
