I've wanted to learn this one for awhile to sing a Vike events. It has a short chorus that just about anyone could learn in a few minutes, so it would make for a good singalong. It
could have hundreds of verses to outlast even the stoutest mead buzz. And who doesn't like songs about a guy who, with a little help from Odin, kicks the asses of both a dragon and the jerk who was plotting his death, and finally goes home with a boatload of bling? Unfortunately, it's in Faeroese, whose pronunciation boggles my mind as it seems to have even more phonetic irregularities than English. I keep hoping to find a Norwegian version, since Norwegian is vaguely more pronounceable than either Danish or Faeroese.
Here is a Danish version, which seems slightly more phonetic (but in this case is considerably more beer-slurred):

It's the same song as Týr's Regin Smiður:

I mean, I guess I could come up with an English version that fits the meter, but where's the fun in that? It's be more appropriate to memorize a huge block of completely unfamiliar text, which may or may not even be pronounced intelligibly.
Ah, a project for another day.
