((OOC:SO! this was mainly written by me, just to explain a bit more about Kaori.. All checked up with Zrrrh... yay! ♥ ))

Kaori lay on her bed thinking about how she’d gotten to were she was. Kaede was a main influence. Kaori adored Kaede. She was always there for her. For everything. Especially after that particularly rough break up period with Masayuki. Fair point. Kaori had appeared to take it well, but it’s obvious. Why would she want to show her class mates that for once, yes, it was safe to say that Kaori had grown attached to the fact that she had a boyfriend. Not so much being attached to Masayuki himself, but she thought she’d grow accustomed to his ways. Even through his ‘playboy’ reputation. I mean, what would she not like? He was witty…funny…complimentary and…yes, gorgeous. Who else wouldn’t want him?! She knew other girls wanted him. That was really obvious. Gaping stares here and there, yet she had the prize and the joy, of grinning, kissing him, and nodding to the other girls, as they envied, and she walked off with him. It was all part and parcel of their relationship. More lust than love maybe, but she expected she’d grow into a full relationship. This one boy was able to make her feel more feminine than any perfume, skirt or shoes ever could. So they’d be together forever, right? Wrong. Then came the break up.
“Kaori, this isn’t exactly as I expected.” God, here we go… Break-ups sucked. And Kaori wasn’t used to being broken up with…After all…to Kaori, breaking up always seemed easier to do than being…dumped.
“I thought I wanted this, but,” Heh. Translation thus begins. “I think we are better suited as friends,” Beep…auto translate. “Kaori…I thought we’d work well, but…yeah, you’re boring dropping you.” And why? Because she wasn’t pretty enough? Was she too dull? End of. Of course she had Masayuki’s reasons all wrong, but being in a girls thoughts, this was her reasoning.
Kaori dropped all inhibitions and decided, “This has all gotta change,” Cue Saturday shopping. New clothes, wardrobe revamp, new hair, new look, new make-up, new attitude. Everything. Rejection wasn’t something Kaori took well to. So when something goes bad, renew it. And she did. Simple. So after Masayuki, Kaori only wanted fun. A few hang arounds, kiss and runs, Seduce and flirt, then leave. It kept her on her toes. Never sex. Eurgh. Sex while not in a relationship was not, repeated not, Kaori’s style. Seducing and abandoning, playing hard to get, on the other hand, was. Kaori wasn’t sure what was worse: No longer having the boy of every sixteen year olds dreams, or being single completely. Yet somehow, that particular break-up had evolved and developed Kaori. Voila. The new Kaori Matano.
“Well, Kaori, who’s are next set of guys to hang out with?” Kaede grinned, in Kaori’s room as they got ready to go out.
“Kaede this is just a kiss chase. A bit of fun. Nothing serious. I refuse to be a whore. Not a shot. Actually…” Kaori paused, setting down the tube of gloss, and handed the perfume to Kaede. “I don’t know if this is even fulfilling anymore. I don’t want a few guys to toy with. I want…” Kaori stopped and reconsidered telling Kaede what she was thinking, for fear of sounding completely idiotic. Kaede looked at her confused. “You know what? Strike that. Let’s go have fun.”
I don’t want a few guys to toy with. A want a boy. Someone who finds me beautiful. Inside and out. Someone modest yet capable of admitting they were perfect together. Someone confident, yet not too proud to tell her she was pretty, that she was fun…or even that she was special to him. Finally, someone who didn’t believe he was the be all and end all. After all, it would be her job to convince him of that. Pity it was impossible.
If it wasn’t for that beautiful day, that Kaori was with one of her friends, she realised that someone else was wonderful. The best friend of Toshio, one of her flirting buddies. Someone who didn’t often flirt. He was clever, quiet, yet sometimes quiet. He was simple, yet ever so confusing. Talented, funny and yes. Oh so beautiful. Kaori had moulded her crush, and decided on the perfect guy…Saburo Sakai.
She didn’t know how to play it. Oh God. Did she try numerous ways.

a) Hard to get. Method: wait until Saburo was looking at her, then consciously flirt with someone else. Result: Left Saburo with the idea she was into Toshio that way. Lesson: Hard to get doesn’t work with Saburo.
b) Flirt continuously Method: Hair flicks, eye contact, compliments. Result: Put him off? Lesson?: BACK OFF.

c) Fuck it and be yourself. Method: Just be Kaori. Result: They became friends. Lesson: Maybe friends is good. But, no, Kaori couldn’t help herself. She wanted him. Not in a childish, spoilt way. Not lust. Nor love by any means. She didn’t know what it was. Her head was all over the place. She was more on her toes, than she was with all the other guys. She needed him? What was this?
So it al leaded to Kaori wanting to make everyone feel as happy around her, as she felt around him. This was the new Kaori. She had managed to stay, trendy, smart, happy, and maintain a steady and good friendship with Masayuki. It was perfect. So far…Right?

To be continued…
