Been reading some really great Heinlein books-- finished "The Moon is a Harsh Mistress" and now am mostly through "The Cat Who Walks Through Walls." So I'm thinking about maybe illustrating a few of my favorite scenes, just for kicks. To start, here's a rough character design sketch. Apologies for lackluster quality, image taken with camera 'stead of scanner.
Ames, the main character/narrator, is a one-legged ex-soldier / pulp fiction author who inadvertently winds up in a nasty web of danger & interplanetary intrigue. I drew him here as if he had cut off & sealed the excess from a non-handicapped pressure suit, but then I realized he probably would have just let it hang, considering it was on loan to him from a friend during that part... I'll just draw the other foot on later.
