Pardon the consecutive posts, but I really don't want to merge these two.
Remember
my post about pay per post reviews? Today, as I was cleaning out my bloglines, I went through one of the personal blogs I subscribe to. Since the said blogger had a lot of updates, I went through it. Still, as I was reading, I realized what it was like---if you've encountered spammy posts about the dating scene in whatever place, or about getting credit cards or mortgages, you know what I mean.
The thing is, while there was an obvious effort to write a decent post, in the end, it was still an entry with empty content. After an engaging intro, it was an empty shell with a link to the sponsor.
It was so not like the blogger, who had other posts that were interesting, and very personal. It was easy to tell the difference between the honest to goodness posts, and the posts that were sponsored, even without the sponsored post tag.
I felt shortchanged. There was nothing personal about the entry. There wasn't any content that was relevant to me. It was just SPAM.
I'm not closing any doors, and it's possible that I may eat my words in the future. But right now, I know where I stand. And I'm sure you know where that is.
