Here we are

Trump is President again, and is now older than Biden was when Biden was inaugurated four years ago. A voting public who complained that Biden was too old to be President, instead turned to somebody who will be even older. Way to go, America!

This was the third inauguration in a row of our oldest President ever. I still say Democrats should bring back Biden in 2028, obviously we have only these two old men who are qualified to run the country ;-)

I didn't watch his speech but my favorite news item from it was that Hillary Clinton laughed out loud when Trump announced he would rename the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America.

But, as I wrote a couple weeks ago, Trump's New Imperialism is not a joke. His foreign policy will not continue our somewhat hypocritical First Among Allies approach since WW2, it will be more like the 19th Century's Manifest Destiny and Monroe Doctrine, in which we don't give a fuck about allies but instead just take whatever we want. I predict Trump will follow a long line of US Presidents who talked peace until after their re-election and then swiftly turned to invasions and war once safely resworn in. How long until the paratroopers land in Greenland and Panama?

Oh, well. Back to waiting until I find out what the executive orders say about my job. At this point RTO of 4x/week would be better than taking away all my telework privileges.

21st century imperialism, 2025, crystal ball, war is profitable
