T cooked dinner for us, yum! And there was enough for leftovers! I commuted and spent a full day at the office.
Over dinner we discussed our plans for the next few days, mainly how we'll get ready for the Christmas Eve party. We'll put up the tree on Saturday and start preparing the main floor and the sunroom for guests. Sunday I have to drive to Richmond to see my family. I'll take off Monday and Tuesday, planning to go shopping for food and liquor on Monday, and to do the final party prep on Tuesday. T usually spends the day of Christmas Eve cooking and baking.
We have too much stuff in the house, so we won't open up T's office or the basement, but we'll try to open up the main floor and the sunroom.
If you're in town on Christmas Eve and have no plans, feel free to drop by in the evening, no presents required, just food and friends.
Tomorrow I'm teleworking, and I'll do my online Christmas shopping for T and KWC (the only people I buy presents for), and I'll focus on any pre-party chores I can do during breaks. I'll have to temporarily relocate my home office to my bedroom for the party, then I can move it back to the dining table until we take down the tree. But I'll mainly be taking time off during the weeks of Christmas and New Year's Day.
I pulled the trigger on buying a new iPad for using while at the downtown office. I'll pick that up on Friday at an Amazon Locker on my way home from downtown, so that I don't need to worry about signing for it at the house. I also need to go by my HMO for some bloodwork this week, I'll probably do that before my commute on Friday morning. After Friday I won't commute again until the week of January 6th, although I'm likely taking time off that week for MAL.
So, lots of time off between now and Trump 1.0.1 ... (he doesn't deserve a 2.0, it's not like he's changed that much).
Why 1.0.1 Feels Accurate:
- His rhetoric, political strategy, and goals have remained remarkably consistent since his first campaign in 2016.
- Even the controversies and scandals might feel like revisiting old bugs rather than introducing new ones.
