I have completed the goddess damned exam

That was a long-running drama, eh? Partly because it was originally supposed to happen WHILE I WAS TRAVELING. But then it was delayed for a week by the instructors for some reason. Then it was going to happen WHILE I HAD COVID. But I requested a week's delay, which was granted. But then it was delayed by ANOTHER 12 FUCKING HOURS because (*^&%^*^*&Y()*^&(*&^%^%$%&^#%#$^%$$^())*&.

Anyway. I believe I did reasonably well. There were a few multiple-choice questions that felt tricky and I wasn't sure of the exact correct answer, but I went with what I thought was the best reasonable answer. I bet I got at least 80% of them correct, maybe even 90%. It doesn't really matter which grade I got, this is just voluntary continuing education that is part of my unenforced annual "management development plan". I force myself to take a graduate-level course with exam each semester because I want to actually learn the material. I'm now a bit late putting together my new management development plan for next year, I'll do that on Friday. I'll be taking another class in the spring semester.

I took this course (on Federal Tax Procedure) seriously. I watched all the classes, and then studied for two days, and then spent over two hours taking the exam. ALL DONE!

Now I'm having a celebratory cocktail. I'm off work until Friday morning! I'll do some chores before I drive to the condo for one or (hopefully) two nights. Unload dishwasher, clean cat litter, check hot tub. When I get to the condo I'll play with toys. If I spend two nights (which is what I now want), I'll probably remain at the house over the long weekend, except for the day trip to Richmond for the Bug Family Christmas (T & B are invited to come along, but haven't decided yet).

Hopefully it will be a while before my job feels super busy again, this year really sucked.

career, vacation
