Room service breakfast was more than adequate, and now I have some leftover toast and butter/jam in case I need a snack later. The in-room snack bar starts at $8 for a candy bar and tops out at $70 for a half-bottle of champagne. I am tempted to grab the dark chocolate candy bar, because it looks high-end and has a custom Beverly Hills wrapper. I also forgot to bring a dark chocolate bar with me, usually I have one wherever I go.
So I have under 8 hours now until my panel starts. I've already started writing down my remarks, they are not given all at once, but as different sets of remarks as we work through a 44-slide PowerPoint deck. The other panelists will ask me questions but they provided me with the list of questions ahead of time and --> I've discussed them with my New Boss and various coworkers, some who delivered similar remarks in NYC and Chicago. By going 3rd in LA I'm unlikely to spark any "news". Sometimes the media don't even bother with the LA panels because they are mostly repeats of the previous two locations.
I'm also doing a bit of other work so there is less for me to do on Friday, but my main priority is writing down my remarks.
I'll need to iron my clothes, practice knotting my tie; I'll need to go downstairs to sign-in and bring back free food. If there's time for a walk break I'll take one, but I'm probably not exercising until I go wandering after the panel.
It's nice having a balcony view to work from!
OK, Bug, back to work.
