Friday morning arrived quickly
A short work week!
I slept 100% normally last night, got sleepy before midnight, didn't need pills, wasn't anxious about work stuff, slept my normal amount of hours. Stayed in bed until 7am. Woke with a BEMHO :o)
Also woke to light rain with thunder. I'd like to go on a walk this morning, but let me check the weather radar after my breakfast settles. Maybe today ends up being a rest day.
I'd love to quit work early today to play with toys, first toy play in two weeks, but I also want to knock some things off my To Do List and either way I'll probably be working on Sunday to catch up with things.
Part of me wants to go running tomorrow morning, but that's incompatible with getting intoxicated tonight. Otherwise I may not have a good running opportunity until Monday morning, because I'm going to a concert with B on Saturday night. Running next week is complicated by needing to commute Wednesday and Thursday, and then having David NYC here for the weekend.
I need to refill the hot tub this morning. That's not a difficult chore, just need to keep an eye on it periodically so I don't overfill it. Then I need to drop in the starting chemicals. Otherwise I'm pretty caught up on the routine household chores. I cooked a Blue Apron meal yesterday, can have the leftover portion for lunch.
I'm relieved that my new laptop is getting the service it needs, under warranty. But when I get it back I'll probably treat it like it is made of egg shells. I was already treating it more carefully than my older laptops, but now I'll probably carry it and store it even more carefully to avoid causing another screen failure. Only carrying it with two hands around the edges, never putting anything on top of it or otherwise pressuring the top. I've read several articles about this model having frequent similar problems and people not knowing how they broke it.
For all I know, I broke it when it put it inside the seat pocket in front of me on the airplane, when I got up to go to the bathroom. The person sitting in front of me was fairly large and his seat was moving around a lot when he moved his body ... This is my best guess as to how the screen broke, because it happened the day before I noticed the problem, and is the only thing I've done differently with it. But a laptop screen shouldn't break from being placed in a seat pocket for a few minutes, come on.
From now on I'll treat the thing like it is fragile, because it obviously is.
