Yeah, well those people are extremists; one should strive at all times not to deliberately upset people, but also not to cater to the fringe.
I am sure that those people who were fired were either given adequate warning for prior incidents BEFORE being terminated - and in instances where that WASN'T the case, then they have a claim for unfair dismissal.
So-called 'culture wars' are being made into a bigger deal than they are, and framing the conversation like this is only buying into it and hyping it up... ''Reason' is always the way to go; if the 'other side' is being ridiculous, we don't need to make it worse by giving them attention, because that only perpetuates any problems that do exist.
You have no idea how many thinkpieces I've read from people complaining about being 'not allowed to say' certain things, when I'm READING what they're apparently 'not allowed to say', LOL ... We're having this debate right now - that alone would suggest that things are not as dire as they are being intimated to be...
Conversations keep flowing, and reparations can always be made for injustice, in a democracy.
