I mean, A is a great grade. I don't usually sit through films that I don't like, which skews my grading scale. It was a lot of feels. It takes on a lot of responsibility and achieves what it was trying to do. Maybe could've been a little tighter ...
I really liked this one. Was the director's first full-length film, and then he did the recent reboot of Queer as Folk on Peacock, which K introduced me to in Portland. So, definitely a film about being gay, but not so much a typical coming of age story, this one was more violent. There's gay-bashing rape and other horrors. Be ready for the full range of dark emotions with this one.
