At times I was physically exhausted yesterday, but it was worth it, we had a wonderful birthday party for T, with 18 people here by my count, far more than he'd expected from his Facebook invite. Obviously our largest social event since before the pandemic. Nobody appeared sick, which is all I ask these days, just stay home if you're sick, please.
I ate a variety of leftover party foods for breakfast this morning, as yesterday I didn't snack AT ALL. During the party I ate two slices of the seven pizzas we had delivered for dinner, and one of the two dozen cupcakes we had delivered for dessert, that's it. I think that's a record for Bug not snacking during a party. But we don't have that many leftovers, partly because I calculated well while shopping, partly because 50% more people showed up than expected. I spent $600 on the party altogether, about $35/person. Entertaining properly ain't cheap!
Once the hosting tasks died down I drank a bunch of alcohol outside by the fire pit, mostly openly snuggling with Ben. Then after the final guests left, B and I put T to bed and continued drinking by the fire pit, finally having the normal discussion we'd been avoiding having with each other for exactly one month. It sounds like he's actively looking for a new job instead of just complaining about his current job, which is a good sign. Yay, back to normal relations with T's other boyfriend :-)
Thankfully tomorrow is NOT a Maids Day, so we don't need to clean up everything from the party today. I'll aim to go on a long walk in the late afternoon, before cooking dinner for us. Then a short work week, then we head to WV next weekend. T asked B to watch the house & cats for us, which will reduce my anxiety level about traveling.
I'm trying to read a new fiction novel by a new author -- trying to step outside of my reading comfort zone. I'll also take at least one paper book with me to WV next weekend, there's one in particular I feel I owe a finish. I could also read to T as he drives, sometimes he enjoys that.
