I was naked, playing with toys, K was still clothed, relatively impassive,
the hallway smoke alarm went off
WTF ... ...
K steps outside for a sec, says there's significant smoke, fuck,
put on clothing grab phone wallet laptop into backpack fuck,
we're gonna have to crawl to the stairwell, yep, for reals smoke in the hallway, stay down, like they taught you as a kid ...
outside, we're wondering where all the other condo occupants are -- nobody is taking this seriously -- even the front desk guy is ... well ... he's going upstairs to check ... but we already saw the smoke, I'm calling 911
So many fire trucks and ambulances and whatnot! Hunky firemen grabbing hoses and running into the building!
Then they appear to calm down, some of the trucks leave, I go over and ask the dude who looks like the incident commander what's going on, he says it is safe to go back in, we climb the stairs to the 4th floor, and there's a bunch of firemen in the hallway with their hoses, we watch them for a bit, then I ask what happened, can we go back to our condo,
was an oven fire, residents used the fire extinguisher, everything was OK
