There will be shortages of particular medicines and consumer products over the next six months. It's already impossible to buy hand sanitizer on Amazon, for example.
If there are items that would be difficult for you to do without, and these items can be stored on a shelf, you might want to stock up.
For example, Tod and I ordered some extra dry pet food and over-the-counter medications. I'm thinking about some other stuff that I use regularly -- chapstick!
I tend to buy stuff in bulk anyway -- in the past this was one of the things that irked Tod about me, but for now he's temporarily joining me in this. I usually get my breakfast cereal in bulk, and toilet paper, Kleenex, soap, etc.
There will be plenty of gasoline, a surplus of gasoline. No problem there. But maybe don't wait until the last day to refill your prescription medicine.
We aren't facing a Zombie Apocalypse, but we may have rolling shortages of various products as various temporary quarantines take effect in various places.
